PH-Japan History,Regional Office in Thailand
The PH-Japan Thailand Office was originally established in 1998 in the name of Project HOPE Thailand and responding to the request its operations were transferred to Project HOPE later in 2000. Project HOPE Thailand started to implement a health program which would support poor children suffering from chronic diseases. Project HOPE Thailand first started with the Partner Education Program and afterward have diversified into various other health education programs such as HIV/AIDS prevention, pediatric cardiac care, cervical cancer, and the Village Health Banks.
In 2006, Project HOPE Japan changed its name to PH-Japan, after gaining independence from Project HOPE.
In 2008 Project HOPE Thailand operation was transferred to PH-Japan and soon afterward the PH-Japan’s regional office in Thailand is approved by the Thai Ministry of Labor. On 28th of October, 2008 the Thai Ministry of Labor notified officially approves for the registration of PH-Japan in Thailand.
